Meet the Coordinators
Welcome LEtter
Dear New Sidizens,
Welcome to Rice, and more importantly, welcome to Sid Richardson College – the tallest and greatest college on campus! As your Orientation Week (O-Week) Coordinators, we have spent 8 months preparing everything you need for your transition to Rice. We know all too well that transitioning from high school to college can be difficult, so we will be by your side every step of the way. Not only will you have us rooting for you, but you have a whole team of amazing Advisors and many other Sidizens who will also be here to help and guide you. If you have any questions or concerns at any point, please feel free to reach out to us or any of the other support contacts provided in the O-Week Book!
Sid is more than a dorm – it’s a tight-knit community. We are a family, and there’s no easier way to see that than from our team of 60 Sidizens, including your O-Week Parents, who will be here to welcome you from the moment that you step foot on campus. While O-Week will be filled with academic presentations to help you select classes, it will also be filled with social activities to help you bond with your O-Week, and Sid, family! Always remember that both during and after O-Week, Sid will always be your home! Once again, welcome to Sid, and we can’t wait to see you in August!
Sid Rich Rules, Love From Above ❤️🖤💛
Over and Out,

Meet Anjali, commonly referred to as “the most goated Sidizen of all time.” This Liverpool-loving stuffed animal collector is a junior from the great Arlington, TX studying Sport Analytics & Business. In other words: she’s an academic weapon, but don’t let her fool you — when she’s not crunching numbers, she can usually be found at the gym, listening to The Weeknd on a suspiciously long walk, playing piano, drawing, or preparing for her eventual career as a world geography champion. She can label (nearly) every country on a world map and is currently working on memorizing every flag, which may be the most “Anjali” hobby imaginable. A lifelong soccer player, ping pong enthusiast, and former Batman for Halloween, Anjali has been preparing for IncognitO-Week her entire life. As a proud Sidizen and O-Week Coordinator, she can’t wait to welcome the Class of 2030!

Come one, come all to meet the one, the only, the greatest O-Week Coordinator of all time (don’t tell any other Coordinator)... Sammy Regalado! This junior-year mathematics major can easily solve integrals with so many letters they’re basically full sentences, and number theory is no big deal for this absolute whiz; do not EVER go up to him in the study room and ask what he’s working on, because it’ll most certainly end up being some sort of 20-dimensional matrix that’ll leave you reeling. Don’t worry, though, we have an out: as a future master’s degree holder in education, the one thing Sammy does better than math is teaching. Just give him a peek at your WebAssign homework for the week and instead of staring at the mathematical secrets of the universe, you’ll be unlocking the mysteries of calculus and staring at a perfect 100% at the top of your screen! This Austin born-and-raised boy is Texan from his cowboy hat to his toes; just be prepared if he ever asks to have the aux, because it’ll certainly end up being some insane combination of jaunty country music and head-banging EDM (he’s an Alan Walker fan for life, unfortunately). You might have to suffer through it to access his endless roster of bangin’ weekend lunch places that he’ll personally drive you to; it’s totally worth it in the end, trust. All in all, Sammy is a Sid Richardson legend, and as anyone can vouch, he’s the best person ever to have in your corner—and he’s been in all of your corners since the moment you became Sidizens! Get ready for the best O-Week ever with Sammy leading the charge.
