Looking for a basketball buddy, last-minute Uber, or someone to make you feel special while simultaneously running three organizations? Meet Elizabeth Chen!
Lizzie is a Senior Sidizen double-majoring in Biosciences and Political Science because one difficult major isn’t enough for her. As a future MD-JD who fought for her life studying for the MCAT and LSAT, she somehow still finds time to stay heavily involved on campus, like as president of Rice Pride. If you can’t find her, there’s a 95% chance she’s in lab or at Sid, fueled by dangerous amounts of caffeine and doing absurd amounts of community service. A proud Taiwanese student, Lizzie has both academic weapon energy and an instinct to always grab the bill. Between being Head RHA, helping everyone around her, and hanging out with her cat Baobei, she will always make time for her new students too!

Hey Rice! Get ready to meet Diego Andres Ojeda Villavicencio, officially the tallest Venezuelan man on campus! While he tracks his roots back to Caracas, he currently calls Cairo, Egypt home. Diego is a sophomore at Sid Richardson College majoring in Mechanical Engineering. If you’ve ever wanted to see what a Greek god mixed with a turnip looks like, look no further. Diego straddles the line between peak athleticism and being a questionably hilarious influence. He is the absolute 5km GOAT and his form at the Sid ping-pong table is so untouchable he is practically Marty Supreme. Don’t challenge him to pool unless you are ready to be utterly annihilated. Diego is always down for unconventional adventures and meeting new people, so get hyped for the best O-Week ever with the one and only Big D!

Hey y'all! Meet Shahzeb Qurashi, a sophomore at Wiess on the Pre-med track. Shahzeb may be the only Houstonian that won’t stop talking about it and won’t ever leave but that also comes with perks (like his car) and city recs. Outside of school, Shahzeb is a jack of all trades (but definitely a master of none). He loves to hit the gym, participates in powerlifting competitions, spends hours chudding around on games like Valorant, and more. If you’re having a bad day or just want to be impressed you can always count on Shahzeb to magically make random x’s appear on you, know your card, or even pull a watermelon out of a hat if you need a snack.
