Wait, you really got THE Lawrence Jin as your O-Week Advisor… LUCKY. This Economics major from Plano, Texas is gonna be hyping you up and keeping you going for all of O-Week and the rest of your time at Rice. Be warned, this senior from Sid will try to drag you to the gym with him and do (gulp) dropsets on every exercise, or take you one-on-one in hoops, but you might end up thanking him when you start getting those gains (but probably not). When he’s not being an academic and athletic weapon, he also enjoys debating for the George R. Brown Forensics Society, but be warned: if you ask him about it, he will give you a deep dive on all of the positions he runs and the fun stories and memories he’s had on debate trips. Lawrence will be an amazing mentor and friend to you, and you’re very lucky to have him as an Advisor.

Dani Hackett, a rising Sid sophomore from the faraway lands of Houston, TX, is ready to advise YOU. A Bioengineering warrior, this Wasian queen (though commonly mistaken for Hispanic or Blasian) is a total sweetheart; whether with a hug or late-night chat, she cheers you up when you need it! A lover of all things sour, her favorite days are when dessert is key lime pie. Catch her eating a breakfast burrito at Brochstein or locked in at Chaus; she's busy radiating kindness all throughout campus. However, she also loves her nightly doomscrolling time and hangouts off-campus (assuming her car isn’t in the service shop again)! If you need some fashion advice, go check out Dani’s pleated skirt collection and cute fits streak. Also, mention ZEROBASEONE, Gilmore Girls, or K-Dramas, and you’ll instantly find your way to her heart. Be excited to have your biggest supporter as your O-Week parent!

Meet Yani Morales, our Brown College latina Computer Science baddie from San Diego, California who never steps out without her gold jewelry shining and an iced matcha in her hand. She may be from Brown, but trust that she always follows her custom Pokemon Go route to Sid every day. Yani brings the utmost pop girl energy no matter where she goes. She is unofficially Zara Larson’s lead backup dancer and honestly? She's the REAL Michael Jackson. With Yani, plans will always make it in the groupchat, even if they don’t make it out. She is also known to be a proud outfit repeater, and you can always catch her rocking her signature fit: Grey Skims sweatpants paired with that one Travis Scott hoodie and we can't forget those water-stained Birks. When she isn't hitting flawless choreography or reminding people to RSVP for a raid in Pokemon Go, she is busy devouring her weight in ramen and sushi. Yani is the Advisor that will keep you laughing, match your chaos, and make sure that your O-Week is one of the best moments of your life!
