Neel, more commonly known as Sir Cornelius Mallipeddi the 7th, is a senior from Dallas, Texas. After failing to make it to the NBA — in large part because he has never played basketball — Neel decided to take his talents to Sid Richardson as a Computer Science major on the pre-med track. As a bibliophile and avid foodie, the only thing better stocked than Neel’s fridge is his bookshelf. When not cooking in the kitchen, you may find the esteemed poet cooking up some bars. Above all else, Neel is always eager to lend a helping hand. After a fellow Sidizen (who may have written this bio) moved into college with everything except his clothes, Neel drove four hours to deliver his wardrobe and save the day. We hope you won’t require saving, but if you do, Neel is your guy.

Alondra is a proud Puerto Rican girly, double-majoring in Sports Medicine and Cell Biology. A true sports girl at heart, Alondra is always ready to catch a game, cheer on her teams, or talk all things athletics. When she’s not studying or supporting sports, you can probably find her exploring a new coffee shop and hunting for the perfect study spots. She’s a certified Bad Bunny enthusiast, whether she’s dancing to her favorite songs, hyping up her friends, or making every moment a little more fun. Beyond her love for sports, coffee, and music, Alondra is serving as Treasurer of Sid Richardson College and making an impact through her involvement with Camp Kesem. Known for her big heart, infectious energy, and ability to make everyone feel included, Alondra is the kind of person who turns any room into a community and every adventure into a memory.

Hold onto your hats, Sidizens, because you just got matched with the best Advisor in O-Week! Hailing from Bandera, Texas (yes, the cowboy capital of the world) Ozzie Knowles is the self-proclaimed “King of Sid.” This sophomore pursuing a dual degree in Neuroscience and Electrical & Computer Engineering can do it all: grinding out his studies, dominating in squash, and somehow still managing to be the undisputed life of the party. When he’s not cheering on his Spurs (despite the emotional roller coaster), you will likely find him at the Rice Rec, showing off his mind-blowing knowledge in geography, or telling one of his crazy stories (seriously, ask him anything and prepare to be entertained). Need someone who’s down for a spontaneous adventure, a late-night yap session, or just a shoulder to lean on? Ozzie’s got you covered. Believe me when I say he will do anything in his power to make your transition to Rice as unforgettable as possible! Congratulations on your amazing luck of hitting the Advisor jackpot!

A rising Junior majoring in Finance and Economics, Simryn is exactly the type of person you need in your life. With her love for acai, pickleball, her Jeep, and the sun, Simryn really stays true to her West Palm Beach, Florida roots. Always on the move, catch Simryn knowing all the best study spots or participating in a club event (but make sure she gets her coffee first). With her lack of directional skills, she won’t be the one driving (fingers crossed), but she is always up for a spontaneous adventure, loves to explore Houston, and will always be trusted on aux. If you’re feeling brave, challenge Simryn to a late-night ping pong match. She will always agree and will always beat you. Regardless, her bright attitude, positive energy, humility, and sense of humor means that you will have a blast spending time with her no matter what.
