Sofia Gordeev, graduating Dec. 2026, is a certified art girlie at heart, trapped in a prison of her own making (being a neuroscience major). Although Sofia is unfortunately from Austin, Texas, this personality defect is made up for by the fact that she is from Sid, the best college! Her love of Sid is only outstripped by her devotion to her younger sisters and also Vladimir Nabokov (with the sisters ranking slightly behind Nabokov…). She is easily bribed by coffee, vintage shopping, or the transparently false claim, “Let’s put on Vampire Diaries in the background while we do our homework; we’ll be productive!” If you’re one of the lucky people in her O-Week family, look forward to her great conversations and impeccable fashion taste! (She’ll still make that O-Week T-shirt work, watch.)

Krish is a basketball lover, real-estate aficionado, and F1 fanatic Junior from Sid Rich. Hailing from San Antonio, he’s always down for pick-up at the rec, and don’t let him get started on why Wemby’s the goat. You can spot him hitting a push day between coffee chats or LARPing a leg day while chatting it up at the Rec. Krish also takes his academics seriously, majoring in Finance and Economics with an FCAM minor. Introduction aside, y’all lucked out having Krish as an Advisor. He’s incredibly kind, will always be there when you need him, and might even tell you his embarrassing stories from Freshman year if you ask nicely. Never hesitate to reach out to him as you transition to your next chapter at Rice, and enjoy a great O-Week with the goat!

Meet Emma Yuan, a sophomore Business and Computer Science double major hailing all the way from Maryland. You never know what’s next with her; on any given day you might find her mid-bite at Simply Pho, filming a TikTok, or three miles deep into a bike/run sidequest. Whether studying, practicing for club lacrosse, or at the Rice Rec, if there’s something in her ear, expect country music. With her infinite energy, you’d think she drinks five Alani’s a day, but she’s simply just high on life.
Although a MD native, she’s a Texan at heart – she has 2 guns for biceps (ask her to flex for u), loves good brisket, and her Tecovas are her babies. Get ready for an awesome week with an awesome Advisor. If one thing is for certain, it’s that you will never have a dull moment with Emma around!

Have no fear, because Raymond “Slaymond” Xu is here! Hailing from Fairfax, VA, this eternally-stressed CS Sophomore is your go-to guy if you need an expert on wind turbines, matcha, and the arcane secret to finishing assignments on time. Raymond is one of the nicest and most reliable people you’ll ever meet. When he’s not doing laps in the Rice Rec pool or baking up a storm of muffins in the kitchen, he’s helping our planet as a member of Rice Wind Energy and chair of the Environmental Commission. But not only is he saving the environment, Raymond also saves lives – both metaphorically and literally (he’s CPR certified ;)). This year, Raymond is the secretary of Rice’s new college, Chao… but fear not! He’s an OG sidizen, so he’ll be a great help in navigating life at Sid. With him as an Advisor, no student is safe… from having the BEST O-WEEK EVER!!
