What up Sid! Boy are you lucky to have Holt! He's a lifemaxxer in every way possible, both inside and outside of Rice. Holt’s super hard-working, constantly solving computing and math problems in his CMOR classes and clubs. While the rest of Rice is asleep, Holt’s somehow up at 4 AM training for Ironmans (and Sid Beer Bike, of course). When he's not collecting miles, you'll probably find him behind the bar at Pub or practicing hard with the Lads, Rice Men's Club Soccer team. On top of sounding like a superhuman (did we mention he’s an Ironman?), Holt also has a chiller side! He loves being outside, getting lost in nature, and taking in a good scenic view, often accompanied with nice folky songs. Be sure to ask him for some recs. He’ll always know how to have a good time out with friends, whether at house concerts or board games nights. So… if you spot someone who somehow has enough energy to bike 100 miles before breakfast, work a Pub shift, play soccer, solve 10 NP-hard problems, and still suggest a hike afterward, congratulations, you've found Holt Klineberg!

BREAKING NEWS: Sidizen Megan Mertz has reportedly been spotted listening to Jeff Buckley while strutting the Outer Loop. Hailing from Bismarck, North Dakota, Megan has taken her talents to the OEDK as the Airframe Lead for Rice Eclipse, the Sid second floor, and the pickleball courts alike. As a Mechanical Engineering major, she somehow balances building rockets with being Sid’s resident grilled cheese master. And if you hear suspiciously competitive ping pong sounds echoing through commons, there’s a good chance she’s nearby.
If she’s not locked in studying, you can probably find her playing tennis or competing in a multitude of intramural sports. She also has a soft spot for sweet treats, which makes sense given her sweet personality. If Megan is your O-Week Parent, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You’ve officially won the lottery! Whether it’s late nights at the OEDK, early morning breakfasts, or midday coffee breaks, she will always be there for you. If there’s anyone you can rely on, it’s Megan!
P.S. don’t forget to ask her about her love for Kanye’s music.

Meet Nailah! She’s a sophomore at Sid double-majoring in Sports Management and Psychology, and minoring in Asian Studies. Born and raised in none other than H-Town, Nai does in fact run Houston. She’s involved in everything dance (literally, everything), tutoring, a couple internships, and ARUBA. Talk about #overlyemployed! She is also NOT a fan of the R*d Sox, so be careful mentioning that around her. Oh, and did I mention, she won Sid Pageant last year? Doing a headstand? During a rap/beatbox battle? All with a broken knee? You just had to be there. What can’t Nai do (besides share her Chipotle apple juice)?

I’m Tanvi’s best friend, but I’ll let you have her for a week… that’s it. Just kidding. Tanvi Bhide is a sophomore from San Diego, California, studying Biochemistry with minors in Business and Medical Humanities from Lovett College. She somehow manages to be your biggest supporter, best advice-giver, and personal emergency hotline all in one (she answered my texts at 3:34 a.m. when I was sick and functioning on zero energy). Tanvi loves swimming, talking about California, and will gladly explain why Gunna and SZA belong on every playlist. She’s incredibly loyal and endlessly caring. At the same time, she's one of the goofiest people you'll meet and can turn anything into a joke. If you ever want to make her laugh, just say "mind u." Sid, you're getting an Advisor who will have your back 24/7 and make sure you never feel alone. 💙 ✨
