  • Hydrated with watered down (his choice) H-E-B raspberry lemonade in his 40 oz Hydro Flask, Scott Koh is always ready to save the day with his amazing Treasurer spreadsheet skills (talk to him about funding the beauty that is Sid Richardson College). When not allocating funds, you can find this Health Sciences major AND Medical Humanities minor actually saving lives on a Rice EMS shift, destroying on the pickleball court, or trying to find the best deal on UberEats. This local Houstonian gives the best recommendations on Houston food spots (ask him where to find the best Thai food), but don’t ask him to drive because he can’t drive on the freeway. All jokes aside, you literally WON DA JACKPOT with the best Sid senior there is. This man will lend you an ear as you yap nonstop about your troubles and tribulations, be there for you no matter what, and give you some yummy tropical twist Trident gum. Scottie is the most dependable person you will meet and you truly, wholeheartedly lucked out with him being your advisor.

With her cozy vibes and cheer, it’s no wonder people, myself included, want to be at Sid. Get ready to be swept up in Isa’s world! As an Owl Tour Guide, she’s the one you’ll want to scream for when you see her on campus. When she’s not busy shaping the next generation of Rice Owls, you’ll likely find her on a Target run, unwinding at a local coffee spot, or indulging in some sweet treats at Tiny’s Milk and Cookies. Get ready to be inspired by her infectious energy and dedication!

  • Now introducing… Rising Junior Math Major from Sid, certifiably swell guy, and self-proclaimed “cool succulent”: Sam Bray! Sam is an expert in planning creative outings with his friends, and his patented mischievous smile and “vowel laugh” always make for a good time. Sam’s no stranger to spontaneity either; he’s always down for late-night games of poker, Whataburger runs, and all manner of excursions & shenanigans. Ask him about the stickers on his trademark water bottle, a fixture of commons since he always leaves it there. Sam loves to cook with friends, and some might even call him a bit of a culinary trailblazer: he’s the first Idaho native to “not like potatoes that much.” Aside from food, Sam is also known for his immaculate taste in music and media, and he’s always happy to give out recommendations or talk about your favorites. On top of everything else, Sam is enormously caring and makes for a great listener if you ever need one. With Sam as your advisor, you’ll be sure to have a welcoming and memorable O-week!

  • Once upon a time… in the heart of Dallas, there blossomed a remarkable lilac named Edith Ibeke. Sprouting from the fertile soil of infectious laughter and boundless curiosity, Edith stood as a paragon of grace and magnificence, her presence akin to a sea of stunning butterflies. This junior from Duncan is genuinely one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, by far the FIRST to go to when in need of venting, advice, comfort, and reassurance :). More than just a biosciences major on a pre-med track, she is a musical connoisseur and a beacon of artistic expression, her life a symphony of song and performance. Edith's smile, as radiant as a spotlight on a Broadway stage, lights up every room, and her resilience shines, never dimming even in the face of adversity. She creates a space of warmth and understanding, always ready to lend an ear or share a comforting word and her beloved Pirouette Chocolate Hazelnut cookies. An irreplaceable presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. With a heart as vast as the ocean, Edith never lets anyone face life's storms alone, making her truly deserving of a standing ovation. The end… or rather, just the beginning of another beautiful chapter in her story.
