Rabbatouille: Take A chance on remy

  • "Wait, you don’t have longhorns at your rodeos?” Hailing from Austin, Texas, your new O-week mom is in her parenting era (Taylor’s Version). If you’re ever in need of any comfort, Allison will always be there to play you some soothing jazz music by Laufey or make you some hot tea from her extensive collection. You can catch this junior history and psychology major finding the best boba shops in town or rewatching Pride and Prejudice (the 1996 version, of course). In her free time, you’ll find this Sidizen knitting a new sweater or volunteering at the Women’s Resource Center. Allison will always be there to lend a listening ear and cheer you up with some Christmas music. You’re so lucky to have her as your O-Week mom- even though she’s not a doctor, just an actress.

  • Sometimes referred to as Kevin, Calvin, or even Clown by a Chaus worker, Kelvin is a junior from Sugar Land, TX and Duncan majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Statistics and Data Science. Kelvin is an avid member of Rice VSA, so he would love to accompany you to one of their events, like the annual LNY Gala (where he DEVOURED the Hat Dance last year)! He also loves driving around Houston, whether that’s to go on a boba run to satisfy his matcha fix or just for vibes as he blasts K-pop (ask him about NewJeans, and he will break out in dance)! Whenever he’s not in his room DoorDashing hot chicken for the second time that week, you can find Kelvin being an academic weapon at Fondy – nonetheless, Kelvin is always there for his friends and will be one of the best O-Week parents you’ll ever have <3

  • Congratulations! You won the lottery for the greatest O-week mom this campus has ever seen. Alejandra Jimenez, the senior Venezuelan from Ft. Lauderdale, belongs to the best major at Rice (Civil & Environmental Engineering !!!). She designs everything from CEVE merch to Sid floats to bridges for Engineers Without Borders and serves as the fearless President of Rice’s American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE). Beneath her hard hat lies a heart of gold. Deeply caring about everyone close to her, Ale pours her heart into everything she does. We’re not lying when we say she cooks the meanest arepas, and her hips don’t either (fact-check us by watching her serve at a BAYSK show). When she’s not at a coffee shop studying, you can find her watching a K-drama or learning a new Korean phrase. Alejandra is one of the chillest and most down-to-earth people in the whole earth!

  • Life of the party? The sun that shines so bright that you can’t see? Yes, that’s exactly who Mark Zuckerberg is… sorry, Mark Roberts (phew, they’re twins). This rising sophomore, towering at some 6 feet 2 inches, he is guaranteed to make you laugh. As a Mechanical Engineering major with perky blue ocean eyes, he has all the answers so don’t worry about course scheduling, he’s got you covered. He is known as the student who had the craziest freshman year (in a great way), so he will definitely have some stories to share to keep you entertained during O-Week. He’s kind, caring, and one of the most fun person you’ll ever meet. Consider yourself lucky if Mark is your O-Week advisor, because he’s going to leave a mark in your lives as the best advisor you could ever have! :)
